Channel One

You remember watching the bogus tv news at the beginning of each school day? Yeah, you remember. Bad reporting of sruface news. No insight, no thought, just whatever is allowed and approved by the powers that be. I have to watch this crap each and everyday. The children hardly pay attention, so why do we play it?

On another note, I am thrilled to see that the cardinals and red sox are playing in the fall classic on saturday. Both teams have a rich history of professionalism and success. I couldn't wish for a better matchup.

Note 3, Green Lantern is a goofy super hero.

I am Pavlov's Dog

Interesting article in the New York Times. Apparently, we understand the idea of rewards. Nice (and disturbing) to know we are basically the same as the animals we probe and test.

NY Times article

Role Reversal

Are you kidding me? The Catholic Church is complaining about an Inquisition against Catholics? Crazy, who let's the pope speak anymore, anyway?

Article

woke up, rolled out of bed, dragged a comb across my head

it's tuesday which is good, only in the fact that it is not monday. of course, if it was wednesday that would be better, progressing till friday. stayed up till midnight to wait for a check to clear, then rushed to the atm with the wife, got 40 bucks and flew to whataburger to get a chicken sandwich. is this the life of the professional i though i would become? i think not.

preceptions of where you should be and where you actually exist are interesting in that its completely individualized. i might think someone is a success, but in their minds they are a complete failure. sometimes, when i consider my friends, i try to imagine how they think of themselves. each has a varying length of education, job skills, talent, and looks. how far did they assume their skill set would get them? have they achieved their goals?

too early to think about this crap. the uneducated of d-town are on their way to listen (yeah, right) to me give words of wisdom. i must be off.

We have a Tie! Columbus 1 - Indigenous People Groups 1

Picked up the story from
http://www.indymedia.org/en/index.shtml. The site seemed to be pretty left-leaning, but the story is pretty interesting.

Statue of Columbus Toppled in Caracas, Venezuela; Solidarity Actions World-wide

On October 12, various popular movements Venezuela gathered in the center of Caracas to celebrate a "Day of Indigenous Resistence" (previously Columbus Day) beneath a bronze statue of Christopher Columbus. Protesters first covered the statue with banners and graffiti, and then climbed to the top to attach a heavy fishing rope around Columbus's neck. Hundreds of protesters easily toppled the statue, even bringing the marble boat that served as his base along with him. The statue was dragged through the streets of Caracas, hung from a tree, and finally broken into pieces. The "Revolutionary" Police of Caracas (under the authority of "revolutionary" mayor Freddy Bernal) arrived, firing tear gas and ammunition into the air. Despite heavy resistence, the police managed to seize the pieces of the statue and arrest five people. The protest then moved to mayor BernalĀ“s office building, demanding the release of the prisoners.

As part of a global day of action in support of the autonomous Bolivarian movements of Venezuela and "Pachamerican" (continental) resistence, solidarity events were held in London, Amsterdam, Athens, Puerto Rico, and Zimbabwe. As part of what has been termed "Revolution within the Revolution," revolutionaries in Venezuela are hoping to carry out further autonomous, civil actions in the future, in solidarity with other movements throughout the continent and around the world.

Never Berate the Bench

I picked this up while surfing http://obscurestore.com/. I think its pretty funny. but sad as well. This judge is berating a cop and honestly, the cop deserves it. oh well, the world is all mess up.

Another War to Fight

Amazing! First we should fight a war against a non-populated idea (terrorism). Now, we should be fighting against the environment and its changes (global warming). We can't win. Anything.
