staff vs staff volleyball

somehow i always sucker myself into doing these things. someone says, "hey, your kids would love to see you play! Won't you help raise money for Organization X?" "ok, ok", I say and sign my name down. and now, only 40 minutes from now i will be playing volleyball in front of a packed gym of 6th,7th, and 8th graders.

A list for the moment

top 5 dictators of the 20th century.

1. Adolf Hitler
2. Benito Mussolini
3. Fidel Castro
4. Mao Tse-Tung
5. Saddam Hussein

I rated them based on several things.

1st, overall blood lust. A dictator doesn't mess around if he wants to be a dictator for long, so killing those that oppose you or those that might oppose you is a great measuring point.

2nd, coolness of the look. Being a dictator requires that you have a different look from other dictators. Quddafi might have made the list except for the fact that his military look is basically a rip off from all the others.

3rd, overall impact on history. Saddam Hussein fell to 5th because his impact on world history is relatively small in comparison to Hitler's effect.

BTW, Hussein makes the list based of that awesome footage of him shooting that shotgun into the sky. Classic dictator moment.

from the coffee shop

i really feel good when i am out of school. i mean, i love my job as much as the next guy, but when you get away from work it's nice to relax and forget the stress for a moment. nothing like that pressure getting off your chest for a moment and allowing you to breath. life is good, for the moment...

tad bit lonely

ever since i got married i have become more and more of a loner. i realize that this was destined to happen as "2 became 1" and all that stuff. i just don't feel as a part of my old cliques as i used to feel. last night i showed up at the house around 630. adri wasn't home yet so i went to the coffee shop to see if my friends were there. they weren't but i could see a bunch of them were in this spot behind the coffee house where people hang out and smoke out. i have never felt like i was a part of that culture and the older i get, the more i am alienated from it. so i went to jack in the crack alone, read a book, and then drove home.

goodnight sweet thing.
