Friday Morning

Came to school sick this morning. sucked ass. woke up at 400, took some Nyquil, thinking it was earlier than that, then spent the morning dozing off trying to teach students testing strategies. the other day i got a response on this blog from some guy, i forget his name. he cracks me up. in no way do we have anything in common, but regardless, he had to post and tell me he "liked" my blog. he he he. thanks buddy.

some marital problems right now. not very fun. ooooh ooooohh love hurts...

monty is headed off to SA to visit his girlfriend's friend who is sick. he told me about how she got hurt and i cant stop thinking about it. probably shouldn't go into detail but regardless its pretty fantastic.

love to compare

as most of you know, i am a teacher. in texas a first year teacher makes around 30,000 dollars depending on the district. i think its good money. granted, before i worked as a teacher i was a waiter at the black eyed pea (average daily tip count: $25). i think my current job (educating children) is important, and most people i talk to feel the same way. regardless of all that, i spotted this on espn.com

Brian Grant, Los Angeles Lakers ($13,233,434)

What a wonderful world it must be ... to play 15 minutes, score three points and grab three rebounds, and collect a cool $161,383.34 for your night's work.

Let's break that down:
$10,750 per minute
$53,800 a point

Wow.

Yeah, makes you think, huh?

can't go into too much detail...

apparently, some students got in trouble from our school and to cover themselves they started making accusations against teachers. i really think this is the most unfair part of the school system. students have complete control. there are no reprucussions for them. they can lie, fabricate, and hint all types of wrong doing and the teacher has no option but sit there, stone-faced, and deny it. more than anyone else, i blame the parents when this happens. they have raised children that shirk personal responsibility of any kind, and the teachers must pay for it. thanks america!
