school is nuts

lots of things going on in the school this week. teachers are being observed by administrators constantly, students are getting written up like crazy, and beyond it all, TAKS test is coming up. the kids can feel the mounting pressure and, for sure, the teachers feel it. i think standardized tests are a pain and cause more headaches then they are worth. but hell, its the system i work in. enough about all that.

tax returns will be filed for today and i am surely looking forward to that. this year will be the first time i file as a married person. apparently i get more money, so i am down with the clown.

i spotted this on another blog. if you would like to see my classroom, click this.

weekend

well, this weekend has been interesting. bought a video game, mafia. been playing it constantly. the wife enjoys watching me play, so we are both happy. school is back at it again and honestly i just dont feel up to it. thats the nature of the beast, i guess.

i was happy to hear 50%+ of the population of iraq voted in the election. hopefully, their constitution will be drafted in due time and we can get the hell out of the country. i was most happy for the Kurds, the minority population in the north that for so long has been opressed and butchered. finally, they get to have a voice.

shoulder still hurts, lifes a bitch, fuck it.
