In the Philosophy section of Barnes and Noble

title of a book: "A New You: Words to Soothe the Mind, Body, and Spirit"

I remember taking Philosophy in college. it was one of the most distressing subjects I took the entire time i was in college. i was forced to come to grips with inconsistencies within myself and my personal philosophy. I was dragged into realizations about my religion and viewpoints on life and eternity. it was horribly painful. even now, thinking back, i remember going home with my mind full of questions and doubts. so when did philosophy become "words to soothe the mind, body, and spirit"? i loved reading about socrates' "examined life", but it hurt like a mother fucker. realizing that i had holes throughout my theory on life was eye-opening and earth-shattering.

so fuck you to the people who think that philosophy is soul soothing and relaxing. you have no clue what is going on in the world around you. you are an embarressment to western culture.

hey man, you got the hydro???

the above statement was mumbled by a drunken jackass in a normal coffee shop on the corner of 10th and hackberry. first of all, i am not super familiar with drug culture and the terms used for the product. second of all, i am pretty intollerant of drugs and those that use them. so, when this fucker comes in asking for drugs while under the inluence of other products, i damn near killed. instead, i restrained myself. this coffee house is quickly becoming a fucking drug den.

life is a fucking wonderful deal, isn't it?

quick hit trip to SA

ran to San Antonio with monty tonight, 4 hour trip one way. 2 thoughts while on the way:

1. passed by the tower of america, a landmark in SA. i remember on my honeymoon with adri we walked past it and she had to go up. i was too chicken and waited at the bottom for her. we were so happy then...

2. also, prepare yourself for HOLY WAR! the new action video game that involves all of your favorite Bible characters. be prepared to battle Jesus on the raging waves of the sea of Galalie. watch out for moses and his ten commandment shatering earthquakes! do you have the faith?
