weather pixie
i added a weather pixie today. it was a bit of a debate for me, due to the extreme feminimity of having a pixie on my blog. i was thinking though, why don't the have a pixie pixie. you could have the musicians from the pixies tell you the temperature in your area. that would be badass. and a little stupid, i realize.
i am listening to the cure, which is a little weird. monty claimed i disliked all music from the 80's because i wasn't into music then. maybe he is right.

1. the smiths
2. the cure
3. culture club
4. the ramones (sadly, this was a horrible decade for them. i love their 70's and 90's music)
5. beastie boys

1. Milli Vanilli (and all lyp-syncin fools)
2. Motley Crue (and all hair bands of their ilk)
3. New Kids on The Block (and all commercial boy/girl bands)
4. Vanilla Ice (and all top 40 so-called rap/hip hop, with the exception of the fabulous Beastie Boys)
5. Huey Lewis and the News (and all commercial, bland rock n' roll)
I guess you weren't comparing alternative eighties to the commercial music of the eighties in your post, but I have to say, for the most part, alternative music was REALLY hard to find back then, and anything that sounded interesting and different (even The Cure...I am not a fan) was an awesome find. You are a tough critic! (that was a compliment btw)
i disagree with 2 of your picks.
Motley Crue was awesome. as were all hair metal bands. the music was good and the outfits were awesome.
Vanilla Ice gets a bad rap now. In his time, he was the great white hope. I enjoy his music still today. "kick out the jams, while the dj revolves it"
If you're going to post about 80's bands that you hate, it's only fair that you inform your loyal readers that you did not actually listen to music during the 1980's.
